2.14 Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC

              IQAC  has  been  a  motivating  force  behind  all  quality  based  initiatives  in  the  college.  Strong
              strategies were to inculcate quality consciousness in all key aspects of quality education. We can

              summarize the major activities and contributions made by IQAC in 2017-18 as follows:

               01.  From  2017-18  the  feedback  is  taken  using  the  student  satisfaction  survey,  questionnaire
              developed by NAAC.

              02. New papers introduced on recent developments and local needs.ICT lab courses in Physics a
              new theoretical  paper on  physics titled  “physics  of   nano  materials”,  new  topic  introduced  in
               Botany related to ecology, new experiments added in Analytical chemistry. Vocational certificate
              course in Geology is to be started shortly.

               03. The college has implemented new question paper pattern in all the classes, where as credit
              and grading system is implemented in P.G. classes

               04. New methodologies like flipped classrooms, experiential learning, and use of smart
              phone/online learning platform has greatly increased.


               05. Publication of books and articles greatly enhanced, 14 books with ISBN no were published.
              Whereas  31  international  &  33  national  research  papers  publish,  57  papers  in  conference
              proceedings.

              06.  One national and five state level quality based workshops were organised by the college.

               07 . New academic Collaborations developed:  International -01, National - 09 and 07 with
              different institutions NGOs and Labs and Linkages with Industries enhanced.


              08. On initiative of IQAC, this year an innovative programme was organised for weaker students
               who had to face supplementary exam. They were motivated to do hard work for better result.
               They were given individual guidance by faculty members of various departments.


              09. IQAC has motivated students to take up social responsibility seriously, as a result extension
               activities are greatly enhanced  the departmental societies initiatives like mentoring school
              children, helping them to update themselves, motivate them to join higher education etc are
              increased.

              10. IQAC took initiative to include activities for developing global competencies in students in time table,
               as a result learning modules based on communication skills, value education and ICT applications are

               being incorporated now.
              11. Workshops on materials modelling and research based pedagogical tools were organized to introduce
               new teaching tools to enhance the quality of learning experience of the students.


              12. IQAC has motivated departments to focus on the coaching and training of students for competitive

              exams, as a result almost all the departments are organising special classes, mock tests for NET/ SET etc.
              The career and placement cell organizes programmes on personality development, career options, UPSC/

               PSC coaching, Competency tests are also organized with the help of external agencies to help students
              know their weaknesses and strengths.
