5. Student Support and Progression

5.1 Contribution of IQAC in enhancing awareness about Student Support Services

IQAC ensures implementation of all the services related to student support system The following steps
are taken by IQAC for enhancing awareness about student support system.

 IQAC motivated the career-counselling cell and placement cell to organize career awareness program that helped the
students in getting jobs. Mock interviews were also conducted for students by the placement cell. SMS, notice board and
college website for distribution of information to students has been implemented as suggested by IQAC.

 Organized induction program for the proper guidance of the newly admitted UG students every year.

 IQAC also motivated the departments for organizing guidance programmes for the students appearing in NET/ SLET/
SET exam. The GK club was prompted to organize GK test based on syllabus of various competitive exams.

 Feedback from students, parents were collected and analysed and suggestions incorporated.

 financial support – Scholarship scheme are properly advertised through college website and brochure , College has a

corpus fund to support poor students namely Nirdhan Sahayata Samooh , Various scholarship scheme are advertised
through college website and brochure

 3 boys and 2 girls hostels are maintained by the college which provide lodging Boarding, Preferably to students
belonging to remote area on merit basis with total capacity of 275 students.

02- Mentoring –

 Every year induction program is organised for new entrant to make them familiarise with various facilities
departments and committee of the college . these induction programmes are designed to motivate students for skill
development, research and competitive exams too.

03- Technology up gradation –

- as a part of Chhattisgarh shasan sanchar kranti yojna 1992 smart phones were distributed to registered students of our college
from 25/09/2018 to 28/09/2018 out of a total of 2084 registered students, 1992 received mobile phones. smart phone were
distributed to final year students of all classes for making students equipped to become a global citizen in the sense.

- online services like SMS alert, online admission and form filling, Result declaration are continued.

- Connectivity – IQAC ensure better dissemination of information through online channel SMS alerts, e- notice board and
college websites are used for free flow of information from admission to results, scheme & program

- IQAC has motivated faculty members to use smart phones not only as means of communication but also as a teaching tool.
As a result almost all departments and cells have formed what’s App group to connect to students . this has become an
effective medium of communication for better connectivity between teachers and students .

03 Feedback system – College has development an effective mechanism for continuous reforms in all areas. The feedback
analysis is done and discussed in staff meeting to communicate the information to the faculty members as per the suggestion.
From this year the STUDENT SATISFACTION SURVEY (SSS) developed by NAAC is being used for student for feedback

04- Alumni support – Alumni of various departments are in close contact with the new batches . they visit the department,
share their experienced even teach some topics as per their need for preparation of NET/SET and other competitive exam.

05- Training /coaching/personality development –Career and placement all organises awareness, exposure and training
programmes this year CHIPS organised state level online competence mapping test in which highest number of students were
found employable from our college .
