6. Governance, Leadership and Management
6.1 State the Vision and Mission of the institution
Vision
The vision of the college is to seek recognition in the state, in India and internationally as a coveted destination
for quality education and research; with multidimensional growth provided to student.
Mission
The mission of the College is to assist in the preservation, creation, updatation on, application and dissemination
of knowledge by teaching, research and public service in comprehensive range of disciplines, thereby serving the
needs and enhancing the well-being of the citizens in order of priority, Raipur district, the state of Chhattisgarh,
India as whole and also the wider world community.
6.2 Does the Institution has a Management Information System
College does not have Management information system software. Instead of this college has manual
management information system in the form of registers and ledgers in which all the information regarding the
various department, student admissions, fees structure, results, attendance, scholarship, infrastructure, books in
the library are kept. This information is available in soft copy also. The details of the Grants received by various
agencies such as, Government grant, UGC, RUSA, CGCOST are also available in account section in soft as well
as in hard format.
6.3 Quality improvement strategies adopted by the institution for each of the following:
6.3.1 Curriculum Development
01- Vocationalization– New Topics in lab course were introduced in accordance with job requirement. Various
job oriented courses like B.Sc./M.Sc. with computer science, IT, Geology , Biotech, Biochemistry
Microbiology, PGDCA, BCA
02- Industry based projects – In PG classes projects were given to the students which linked them to industries.
03- New
topics in the P.G. classes were introduced as per local needs in Chemistry and Botany. Botany lab
course was modified and a segment on usages of agents for decomposition.
04- New papers are introduced in defence and Physics.
05- Regular meetings of Board of studies are organized yearly. Eighteen faculty members are members of
Board of studies of other colleges and 17 are members of university central board of studies.
06- Elective paper based options are available in Botany and Zoology.
07- Project work/ training is available in biotechnology, geology and physics PG students.
08- Development of global competencies – Apart from Major subjects offered in the curriculum special classes,
training programmes, workshops etc. are an integral part of our time table, these activities are focussed on
environmental awareness, communication skills, computers ICT skills & value education.
09- Extension activities co curriculum and extra Curricular activities are organized throughout the year like
adopting schools or village, cleanliness drive, SVEEP programme, cultural events, literary events etc.
